TOKYO, Japan — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday dismissed claims that the Senate majority members are being “targeted” by the administration following a series of cases filed against some of the senators who are part of the bloc.

“I don’t know how it ended up being said that the majority now is being targeted. Because if you look at it, they weren’t the majority then. So, that doesn’t apply,” he said in a sit-down interview with reporters here as he concluded his four-day state visit.

He further said, “Whatever the alignment in the Senate was, it has nothing to do with it. These are still the people whose names appeared in… If you look, what is… Where all this is based is in the testimony to the blue ribbon committee. That’s where it all appeared.”
