South Africans prepare for a mix of rain and cool temperatures on Friday.

South Africans can expect a mostly calm but cool Friday across much of the country as dry conditions dominate the central and northern interior, while coastal regions along the south and east continue to see patches of cloud, fog and scattered rainfall.

A large parts of the country, including Gauteng, the Free State, North West and Limpopo, will remain dry with fine weather throughout the day. Temperatures will stay cool during the morning before turning pleasantly warm by the afternoon, especially across Limpopo and the northern interior.

Johannesburg and Pretoria are expected to enjoy clear skies and comfortable afternoon conditions after a cold start.

Mpumalanga will begin the day with frost over parts of the Highveld before warming up later. Clouds are expected to increase during the evening, with a 30% chance of rain developing over the escarpment and southern Lowveld.
