Expect cool conditions and scattered showers across South Africa this Friday

South Africans can expect another chilly winter's day on Friday, with cool to cold conditions dominating much of the country. Cloud cover will be widespread over the eastern provinces, while sunnier and warmer weather develops across parts of the western interior.

The highest chance of rainfall will be found over the eastern parts of the country. Morning fog is also expected along the escarpment and central areas before clearing later in the day.

KwaZulu-Natal will start with patches of morning fog over the interior, followed by partly cloudy and cool conditions. A 30% chance of showers and rain is forecast across most areas, excluding the far western parts of the province. Fresh to strong south-westerly winds are expected along the coast during the afternoon.

Across the Eastern Cape, both the western and eastern regions will experience cloudy to partly cloudy skies with cool temperatures. Coastal areas and adjacent interior districts carry a 30% chance of light showers, while conditions become drier further inland.
