Cool winter weather blankets South Africa as coastal showers and inland rain are forecasted for Thursday.

South Africa can expect another cool winter’s day on Thursday, with a mix of cloud, sunshine and a few isolated showers affecting parts of the country.

While most central interior regions will remain dry, rain chances increase along sections of the coastline and in the northeastern Lowveld.

Gauteng will start the day cloudy across northern areas with cool conditions, before clearing to fine weather for most places. Partly cloudy skies are expected during the afternoon, with no rainfall anticipated.

In Mpumalanga, morning cloud and fog will affect the Highveld and escarpment. Conditions will gradually improve, although isolated showers and rain are expected in the Lowveld with a 30% chance of precipitation. Temperatures will remain cool, becoming warmer in the low-lying areas.
