U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 fell 0.5% in morning trading. Renk Group added 3.2% and Infineon Technologies rose 3%. On the other hand, Fresnillo lost 3.9%, and Autotrader Group sunk 3.6%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.9%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France's CAC 40 declined 0.3% and Germany's DAX dropped 0.1%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index climbed 0.1% to 95.94.
In commodities, Brent crude climbed 2.7% to $94.72 a barrel, and WTI crude gained 2.7% to $91.03 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was up 2.5% to 47.56 euros a megawatt hour.
The German 10-year Bund yield climbed by 2 basis points to 3.011% from 2.99%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury rose by 2 basis points to 4.511% from 4.488%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
