U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were flat and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.2%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 fell 0.4% in morning trading. Mycronic climbed 12.8% and Allegro.eu rose 5.4%. On the other hand, Ericsson B dropped 7.5%, and Cembra Money Bank slipped 3.9%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.1%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France's CAC 40 decreased 0.7% and Germany's DAX fell 0.4%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index fell 0.1% to 97.39.
In commodities, Brent crude climbed 3% to $85.77 a barrel, and WTI crude gained 2.8% to $80.32 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was up 2.7% to 52.85 euros a megawatt hour.
The German 10-year Bund yield rose by 3 basis points to 3.162% from 3.132%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury climbed by 1 basis point to 4.634% from 4.62%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
