In a statement signed by Comrade Nduka Ogbu and issued in Nsukka on Tuesday, the youth group said the emergence of Peter Obi in the NDC had reignited hope across Enugu North who overwhelmingly supported his presidential ambition in 2023.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Vanguard, Nsukka Zone, has expressed deep concern over what it described as a dangerous and calculated attempt to compromise the structure of the party in Enugu North Senatorial District and allegedly hand it over to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement signed by Comrade Nduka Ogbu and issued in Nsukka on Tuesday, the youth group said the emergence of Peter Obi in the NDC had reignited hope across Enugu North who overwhelmingly supported his presidential ambition in 2023.
According to the group, Nsukka Zone remained one of the strongest support base for Obi’s movement, making recent developments within the party both shocking and disturbing.
The Youth Vanguard alleged that certain political actors within the zone were working behind the scenes to weaken the NDC and allegedly align its structure with the APC ahead of future political contests in the state.
