A coalition of concerned youths from Nsukka in Enugu State has warned the leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) against imposition of Senatorial candidate in their area, saying this negated the principle of democracy.

This is as the Coalition strongly rejected the senatorial ambition of former lawmaker, Dr. Pat Asadu, describing his renewed political move as “opportunistic, divisive and unacceptable to the people.”

In a strongly worded statement from the Enugu North Senatorial District, signed by Comrade Christian Amoke, the youths warned the leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress against imposing Asadu as the party’s candidate for the 2027 Senate election, insisting that such a decision could trigger massive resistance and weaken the party’s chances in Nsukka land.

The group accused the former federal lawmaker of spending 16 years in the House of Representatives with “little to show for it,” alleging that his long stay in the National Assembly fell far short of public expectations.
