MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) on Tuesday acknowledged that raising awareness on road safety among the public remains a challenge to the agency as it commits to collaborate with other government agencies in implementing the country’s road safety action plan.

During the Philippine Road Safety Summit 2026, PMaj. JV Libang was asked of the road safety issues that the PNP-HPG has a hard time addressing.

“One of the challenges that we are facing right now in the PNP-HPG is how to raise the awareness of public when it comes to safety,” Libang said.
