MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Police (PNP) called for greater vigilance and community involvement in preventing school violence by identifying ‘warning signs,’ saying protecting students must go beyond guards, cameras and other physical security measures.
Following the incident at Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) Junior High School on August 18, which left two students dead and two others injured, the PNP said police must work closely with schools and communities to detect potential threats before they escalate into violence.
