MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) will maintain security and support relief operations as communities recover from the combined effects of the southwest monsoon (habagat) and tropical cyclones Luis and Maymay (international name: Kujira).
“Our responsibility does not end with search and rescue operations,” PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement on Wednesday.
“We will remain engaged in the recovery phase by maintaining security, supporting relief efforts and helping communities recover from the effects of the disaster,” he noted.
