The local government of Angeles City, Pampanga wants an investigation into the collapse of a building under construction, wherein over 20 individuals are believed to be trapped inside. “Ayun ang kailangan ma-imbestigahan para malaman natin kung ang paggawa po nila ay substandard ang gawa, or kung may kinalaman yung soil testing. Kailangan lahat ng parameters malaman natin para malaman natin kung paano gumuho,” said Mayor Carmelo Lazatin II in the report of GMA News stringer Rommel Ramos. We need to look into all parameters so we can understand why it collapsed.) But Lazatin noted that the building has the necessary permits. Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Regional Information Office chief F/ Supt. Ma. Leah Sajili said authorities are looking for at least 23 individuals. Meanwhile, 24 others were already rescued. Angeles City DRRMO chief public information officer Jay Pelayo IV said that a rescuer was able to communicate with two of the trapped individuals.The Department of Public Works and Highways will form a technical team to investigate the incident. Further, Lazatin said a representative of the building owner had already arrived at the site of the incident. “Wala pa pong dumating sa side ng contractor. Yung dumating lang po ay yung representante ng owner at siyempre wala naman silang madi-disclose talaga. Siyempre, unang-una, ang magva-vouch po kasi talaga ay yung project engineer at yung nag-design ng gusali kung bakit may ganitong insidente na nangyari,” said Lazatin.
