MANILA, Philippines — While the low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine area of responsibility is not expected to develop into a tropical cyclone, its trough will continue to affect parts of Mindanao and Visayas, the state weather bureau said Friday.
The LPA was last spotted 865 kilometers east of Southern Mindanao as of 3 p.m., according to the 5 p.m. bulleting of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Weather specialist Charmagne Varilla said the weather distrubance is heading southward but will be traversing westward as it nears Mindanao’s landmass.
