MANILA, Philippines — Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Nicolas Torre III on Friday gave a tongue-in-cheek response when asked if he would accept a possible assignment to help arrest Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa amid talks of a manhunt against the lawmaker.
“As long as there is information that the senator is in a landfill, in waterways, or rivers, we can [help],” Torre said in Filipino during a media forum.
Torre, who previously led the operation that resulted in the arrest of Apollo Quiboloy, founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, and later helped implement the International Criminal Court arrest warrant against former President Rodrigo Duterte, was asked if he would take on the task should Malacañang hypothetically tap him to serve a warrant against dela Rosa.
