Passenger traffic at the 24 airports managed by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) increased by 8.8% during the first four months of 2026 compared with the corresponding period in 2025.More specifically, according to the statistical data, total passenger traffic — including both domestic and international arrivals and departures — at the airports of Heraklion, Kalamata, Alexandroupoli, Limnos, Astypalaia, Ioannina, Chios, Kozani, Kastoria, Karpathos, Kythira, Milos, Skyros, Nea Anchialos, Paros, Syros, Araxos, Naxos, Kalymnos, Ikaria, Kastellorizo, Kasos, Leros and Sitia reached 1,547,291 passengers during the January–April 2026 period, compared with 1,422,156 passengers in the corresponding period of 2025.Positive momentum also continued in April 2026, with passenger traffic across the 24 HCAA-managed airports rising by 4.7% year-on-year.Heraklion “Nikos Kazantzakis” Airport handled the highest number of travellers in April, as it recorded a 4.9% increase in passenger traffic compared with the same month last year, serving 624,454 passengers versus 595,306 in April 2025.Growth Across All 39 AirportsAt the same time, passenger traffic across all 39 airports in Greece handling commercial flights recorded an increase of 5.6% during the first four months of 2026.Specifically, total passenger traffic reached 14,590,036 passengers, compared with 13,811,216 during the same period in 2025.Regarding aircraft movements — including domestic and international arrivals and departures — during the January–April 2026 period, the total number of flights across the country’s 39 airports, whose air traffic control is exercised primarily by the HCAA, increased by 5.4% compared with the corresponding period of 2025. A total of 123,146 flights were recorded, compared with 116,883 flights last year.
