A Fire Service rescuer was injured Thursday high on Mount Olympus during a large search and rescue operation for a missing Spanish climber, state ERT television reported.
ERT said the rescuer suffered a fall on the snow-clad mountain but remained conscious and was to be airlifted by helicopter to Thessaloniki. There was no trace of the missing man.

The climber had started off early Wednesday from the Spilios Agapitos mountain refuge, at an altitude of 2,060 meters, for the Mytikas summit at 2,918 but has since given no signs of life.
