A SHOCKING scene unfolded in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning as 63-year-old Aletta Rose, accused of murdering her sister, unleashed a torrent of expletives directed at the prosecutor and the judicial system.
The dramatic courtroom eruption followed allegations that Rose beheaded and dismembered her sister, Constance "Connie" Scholtz, aged 79, inside her Bellville South home on March 19.
Rose was previously convicted of murdering her brother-in-law (her husband’s brother) in 1997 when she stabbed him in his chest during an argument with her husband.
When Rose appeared in court on Tuesday morning, she threw her legal aid representative under the bus for not speaking Afrikaans.
The case was postponed to yesterday, where a new Afrikaans-speaking legal representative was present.
