adsThe Lagos State consensus governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Laja Adeoye, on Wednesday formally declared his ambition to contest the 2027 Lagos governorship election, declaring that residents of the state were tired of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after over two decades in power.
Adeoye made the declaration at Ward F5, Ejigbo, in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area, where party leaders, coalition members and supporters of the PDP-APM alliance gathered in large numbers to endorse his ambition.
The former PDP governorship aspirant, who emerged as the consensus candidate of the APM following the alignment of the Gov. Seyi Makinde-backed PDP faction with the party, said Lagos residents were yearning for fresh leadership, new ideas and people-focused governance.
“The truth is that Lagos residents are tired. They have seen the ideas and style of governance since 1999, and they are yearning for something new,” Adeoye declared.
“The people want fresh ideas, fresh faces, fresh leadership and a fresh governor. That is what I represent.”adsads
