The governorship candidate of the Allied People's Movement for the 2027 election in Lagos State, Prince Laja Adeoye

The governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement for the 2027 election in Lagos State has explained his decision to leave the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, citing internal party conflicts and a renewed focus on governance priorities.

Speaking at the official launch of Lagos Agenda 2027, tagged Atunto Eko 1.0, on Sunday in Lagos, where he also unveiled parts of his campaign agenda, Adeoye said the move was necessary to pursue what he described as a clearer platform for service delivery.

The aspirant, who recently defected from the PDP to APM, said, “My decision was driven by internal crises within the PDP and a desire to focus on governance issues.”

“The lingering legal and leadership tussles within the PDP made it impossible to focus on the real issues facing Lagosians. My love for this state and my desire to deliver real change necessitated this principled switch. APM is not just another party; it is a government-in-waiting — a movement built on integrity, competence, and people-centred leadership,” he stated.
