Laja Adeoye has emerged as the consensus governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for the 2027 election in Lagos State, pledging to “Reset Lagos” and end what he described as years of exclusion and poor governance under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking after his affirmation at the party’s governorship primary in Lagos on Thursday, Adeoye said the APM is ready to offer Lagosians an alternative built on “inclusive prosperity,” accountability and economic reforms.
“I stand before you today with a heart full of gratitude and a spirit burning with purpose,” he said. “I wish to express my profound appreciation for the singular honour and privilege you have bestowed upon me to lead our great party, the APM, as the governorship candidate for 2027 election.”
Adeoye described the consensus process that produced him as evidence of internal democracy within the party.
“In our party, APM, members are free to express their views. Nobody is going to stop you in APM from contesting. Nobody is going to impose you on anybody. This is a place where democracy domiciles,” he said.
