The Youth Rights Campaign (YRC) has accused the management of Ezzy International College of Nursing Science, Akpuoga Nike, Enugu State, of using operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police to intimidate activist, Francis Nwapa, and student nurse, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwaogaranya, for challenging alleged repression and victimisation within the institution.
In a statement issued on Friday, the group condemned what it described as a growing attempt to suppress dissent and silence critics through the deployment of security agencies by the management of the college.
The statement was signed by YRC National Coordinator, Michael Adaramoye Lenin, and National Secretary, Francis Nwapa.
The controversy began after Nwaogaranya defended another student nurse, Miss Joy Ezeugwu, in the school’s WhatsApp group discussion concerning her (Ezeugwu) suspension from the school after she exposed poor conditions at Uwani General Hospital in a viral video.
