SpaceX rocket booster on collision course with the moon, expected to leave deep crater

A wayward part from a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket weighing an estimated four tons and traveling at more than 5,000 miles per hour was expected to have unintentionally crashed  into the moon early Wednesday morning in a rare case of a man-made collision with the lunar surface.
