Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has urged South Africans to avoid violence and bloodshed ahead of planned anti-illegal immigration protests on June 30. Welcoming the monarch's intervention, the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal called on demonstrators to exercise their constitutional right to protest responsibly while respecting the rights of others. The party also warned against vigilantism, unlawful citizenship checks and actions that could trigger instability reminiscent of the July 2021 unrest.
