King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has appealed for calm and restraint amid growing tensions surrounding migration, urging members of the Zulu nation not to target foreign nationals with violence.
The King made the remarks while addressing the 12th International Day of Yoga at the Durban Amphitheatre on Sunday. The event was held under the theme, “Yoga for Anti-Ageing”.
Speaking against the backdrop of heightened debate around illegal immigration and planned demonstrations in parts of the country, King Misuzulu acknowledged concerns over undocumented migrants but stressed that violence was not the solution.
The monarch said South Africa's migration challenges should be viewed within a broader African context.
