Fresh controversy has erupted within the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after angry party members in Offa Local Government Area openly protested against the conduct of the party’s primary elections, accusing Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the state leadership of imposing preferred candidates on members. In videos obtained by SaharaReporters on Saturday, visibly aggrieved party members were seen protesting and lamenting what they described as the denial of their right to vote during the primaries.

They warned that any attempt to impose a candidate could worsen internal divisions within the APC in the state and threaten the party’s chances in future elections.

Party members and supporters reportedly trooped out in large numbers from the early hours of Saturday in anticipation of the exercise.
