According to the aspirants, the actions of the committees have significantly undermined confidence in the credibility of the exercise, raising fears that the outcomes of the primaries may have been predetermined even before voting begins.

There is tension within the Kwara State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress as aggrieved aspirants have accused committees sent from the party’s national secretariat to supervise the ongoing primary elections of compromising the process and failing to uphold established procedures.

Some of the aggrieved aspirants, who spoke to SaharaReporters, alleged that committees dispatched from the APC national secretariat to supervise the primaries failed to engage with contestants and instead operated in secrecy, holding meetings in undisclosed locations across the state.

According to the aspirants, the actions of the committees have significantly undermined confidence in the credibility of the exercise, raising fears that the outcomes of the primaries may have been predetermined even before voting begins.

Many of the aspirants specifically accused the head of the monitoring team from the APC national headquarters, Duro Meseko, of compromising established procedures.
