“The results are being written across local government headquarters in favour of the governor’s preferred aspirant,” one party member alleged.

There was confusion and outrage across several local government areas in Kwara State on Friday as aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress alleged that results of the party’s governorship primary election were being compiled and written without any actual voting taking place.

Party members accused officials loyal to the state governor of orchestrating what they described as a “pre-determined exercise” designed to favour the governor’s anointed aspirant.

According to the aggrieved members, party officials had earlier informed delegates and stakeholders that voting would commence across the 16 local government areas after Jumat prayers.

However, several members claimed that instead of electoral materials and accreditation procedures, party leaders began collating and announcing already prepared results.
