The APC chieftains disclosed that they had already submitted petitions to the party’s Appeal Committee, the National Working Committee (NWC) and President Tinubu, seeking intervention and redress.
The conduct of the governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State on May 16, 2026, may have been concluded, but dissatisfaction continues to trail the exercise as several aspirants have openly rejected the process and outcome.
Aspirants contesting for the House of Representatives ticket in the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency were among the first to protest the conduct of the primaries, alleging that party officials adopted an unconventional and non-transparent method during the exercise.
The aggrieved aspirants include Ademola Adebayo Samad from Ora Ward, Ora; Akeem Ishola Balogun from Oja Ward II, Igbaja; Dauda Olayinka Patrick from Oro Ago Ward; Bello Ademola Joseph from Omupo Ward; and Ademola Theophilus Apere from Shaare Ward.
The aspirants jointly alleged widespread irregularities and the absence of a credible electoral process.
