MSNBC will become MS NOW next year and ditch its famous peacock-inspired logo.

The cable news network is changing its name this year because a corporate spinoff is separating MSNBC from its cousin, NBC News.

They're the first real public-facing changes in Versant's upcoming separation from Comcast's NBCUniversal.

The television network MSNBC will change its name later this year as part of its corporate divorce from NBC.

MSNBC will become MS NOW next year and ditch its famous peacock-inspired logo.

In a recent episode of Pivot, Maddow said “we can apply our own instincts, our own queries, our own priorities, to getting stuff that we need from reporters and correspondents.”

MSNBC will soon be known as "My Source News Opinion World" as it exits Comcast's family into the newly created media company Versant.

The US TV network has also been building its own news division separate from NBC News.

The cable TV network’s new name, MS NOW, became the subject of mockery soon after it was announced on Monday.

But the anchor also explained why she believes the widely mocked rebrand "is going to be good for us."
