The future name for MSNBC has one of the network’s star anchors confused.

“I will admit to having no idea how to pronounce ‘MS NOW,’” Maddow told Variety this week.

Maddow confessed she’s also “still not all that sure about pronouncing ‘Versant,’ either,” referring to MS NOW’s new parent company following MSNBC’s corporate split from NBC.

“At least” the syllable count is dropping “from five to three,” she lightheartedly added in an email to the magazine. “An efficiency gain!”

MSNBC will be known as MS NOW — or My Source for News Opinion and the World — beginning later this year.
