The 18-year-old driver involved in a serious crash that killed two brothers near the village of Smilyan has been released on bail, according to magistrates in Smolyan.
The court determined that there was no risk that the young man would flee or commit another crime.
The accident happened on the road between Smolyan and Smilyan, where the car carrying four boys from Smilyan was traveling at high speed along a straight section of the road. The vehicle skidded, spun and collided with an oncoming car.
Two of the boys, aged 17 and 18, died in the crash. They were brothers. The other two boys in the car were examined and released for treatment at home.
The driver of the oncoming vehicle, a 62-year-old man, was hospitalized with fractures to his leg and collarbone.
