After what has been an incredibly difficult year with mass redundancies, coupled with a studio move, they would be easily forgiven for letting their hair down. And the stars of This Morning did exactly that as they scooped the award for Best Daytime show at this year's National Television Awards last night.Cat Deeley, Ben Shephard and Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary posed with their latest trophy and paid tribute to the crew they lost through brutal ITV cost-cutting measures.Dermot, 53, described the 'gear change' the This Morning team went through after the redundancies, before dedicating the award to the crew.He said: 'The team have done so well, especially given that we've moved studios, we've lost a huge part of our workforce who lost their job from no fault of their own, and, it took quite something.'It was a real gear change and for our team to sort of come in day on day out and keep that level of professionalism and good nature and just so supportive and so.'Last year ITV chiefs moved all of its daytime programming out of their headquarters, Television Centre, in West London, and slashed its 400-strong workforce by half.Dermot, who was celebrating by drinking white wine from a plastic bottle, continued: 'Like I always say, we get to dance in the light because they're working in the shadows. Dermot O'Leary drank wine from the bottle as he addressed 'brutal' ITV job cuts at the National Television Awards and dedicated his win to the This Morning crew It is the second consecutive year This Morning have been awarded the gong, having lost their 12-year streak in 2023 following the departures of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby 'They're so good at what they do and it's a real privilege and a pleasure to work with them.' His words left the gathered staffers visibly emotional, before Ben, who joined This Morning in 2024, also paid tribute. He said: 'As Dermot said, there's been some big changes through the whole of ITV daytime, not just to us at This Morning, but affecting Lorraine, Loose Women and our friends and family at GMB as well.'For everybody to bounce back and just with such enthusiasm and with such grace and want to make the best show we possibly can, they're really special.'It is the second consecutive year This Morning has been awarded the gong, having lost their 12-year winning streak in 2023 following the controversial departures of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.Cat, 49, wore a couture pink-and-white gown from Italian designer Giambattista Valli Resort for the ceremony. As part of the 'brutal' cuts to ITV daytime, the making of Good Morning Britain was transferred to ITN, who also produce ITV and Channel 4 news.Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women moved to the Hospital Club in Covent Garden in the capital. All three shows share the same studio and small dressing rooms backstage, which has reportedly caused friction amongst stars.Lorraine Kelly's self-titled show was also reduced to just 30 minutes and now airs for just 30 weeks of the year, along with Loose Women. For the 22 weeks of the year Lorraine, 66, is not on air, GMB is extended. The stars of This Morning were in high spirits as they scooped the award for Best Daytime show at the National Television Awards last night Cat's predecessor on the sofa, Holly Willoughby, also attended the NTAs after she took a hiatus last year amid ongoing fears for her safety following a foiled plot to kidnap her.The presenter, 45, who launched her YouTube series this summer and is a veteran of the NTAS red carpet, dazzled in an £18,500 dress from Vietnamese designer, Hua Le Duc Anh.After celebrating his 100th birthday in May, Sir David Attenborough was awarded Best Presenter for his documentary series, Secret Garden. The BBC star beat Traitors' host, Claudia Winkleman, and left ITV darlings, Ant and Dec, without the gong for a second consecutive year. Last summer, the Geordie duo lost their 23-year streak to the former BBC presenter, Gary Lineker. For the first time in the history of the NTAs, all women led the nominees for Best Drama Performance, including Sheridan Smith, Ruth Jones, Ella Bruccoleri and Judy Parfitt. But it was Vicky McClure, who scooped the gong for her role in ITV's Trigger Point.National Television Awards 2026: The Winners Reality CompetitionI’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!I’m A Celebrity… South AfricaRace Across the World The Celebrity Traitors - WINNER The TraitorsQuiz ShowAnt & Dec’s Limitless WinMichael McIntyre’s The WheelRichard Osman’s House of GamesThe 1% Club - WINNERThe ChaseReturning DramaBlue LightsBridgertonCall the Midwife - WINNERStranger Things Trigger PointReality DocuseriesAt Home With The FurysClarkson’s Farm - WINNERFletchers’ Family FarmMortimer & Whitehouse: Gone FishingStacey & JoeDrama PerformanceElla Bruccoleri as Mary Bennet, The Other Bennet SisterJudy Parfitt as Sister Monica Joan, Call the MidwifeRuth Jones as Elena Ravenscroft, Run Away Sheridan Smith as Ann Ming, I Fought The LawVicky McClure as Lana Washington, Trigger Point - WINNERSerial DramaCasualtyCoronation StreetEastEndersEmmerdale - WINNERHollyoaksFactual Entertainment24 Hours in Police CustodyGogglebox - WINNERSecret GardenSort Your Life OutThe Martin Lewis Money Show Live New Drama A Woman of SubstanceBelieve MeHeated RivalryI Fought The Law - WINNERThe Other Bennet SisterAuthored DocumentaryCaroline Flack: Search for the TruthJesy Nelson: Life After Little MixOur Girls: The Southport Families - WINNERSharon & Ozzy Osbourne: Coming HomeSir Chris Hoy: Cancer, Courage and MeTV PresenterAlison HammondAnt & DecClaudia WinklemanDavid Attenborough - WINNERStacey SolomonComedyAmandalandChanging EndsLast One LaughingMrs Brown’s Boys - WINNERNot Going OutThe Bruce Forsyth Entertainment AwardGladiatorsMichael McIntyre’s Big Show - WINNERThe Graham Norton ShowThe Masked SingerWould I Lie to You?Serial Drama PerformanceAaron Thiara as Ravi Gulati, EastEndersGareth Pierce as Todd Grimshaw, Coronation StreetJeff Hordley as Cain Dingle, Emmerdale - WINNERPaul Bradley as Nigel Bates, EastEndersSue Devaney as Debbie Webster, Coronation StreetDaytimeGood Morning BritainJames Martin’s Saturday MorningLoose WomenScam Interceptors This Morning - WINNERTalent ShowBritain’s Got TalentStrictly Come Dancing - WINNERThe Great British Bake OffThe Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To CancerThe Great Pottery Throw Down
