Renowned presenters Ant and Dec have opened up about what they are most proud of in each other and how each other has grown ahead of this evening's National Television Awards10:23, 08 Sep 2026Legendary television presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly shared an emotional moment on their recent podcast.‌The pair, who have presented the likes of Britain’s Got Talent and I’m A Celebrity…Get Met Out Of Here!, were asked by what they were most proud of in each other on Hanging Out with Ant & Dec.‌This led to two very different, but profound responses. Going first Ant, 50, said that what made him most proud of his presenting partner of around 30 years was who he was as a person.‌He explained: “I’m very proud of Dec as a man, as a human, as a Dad, as a person. He’s a good person. I think there’s something to be said about that. Forget all the career stuff, he’s a good person.”Dec, also 50, responded: “It’s very nice of you to say that. I do try my best. I try to be nice. It’s nice to be nice.”‌When it came to his turn, Dec paid a lengthy tribute to Ant, tying in something they’d discussed in their last podcast, Ant’s tattoos, and how proud he was of Ant turning his life around.He explained: “I would say I am most proud of Ant of [chokes] I think, um, well it’s something we talked about in the last pod actually.“Your first ever tattoo and I am really proud of him the way that he has managed and dealt with the adversity you faced in your life and how you’ve, you took it on yourself to make yourself a better person and to improve yourself and to change the path of your life.‌“And how well you’ve done and how you have given yourself and given your family a whole new life and the way that you have taken responsibility and done all of that.”Dec concluded: “And I think your first tattoo completely sums it up how brilliantly you faced your issues and your problems and turned your life around. I think that is a real testament.”‌In 2018, Ant took a break from public life following a drink-driving crash and returned to rehab for a second sting. He returned to present ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent alongside Dec in 2019.Following Ant & Dec’s emotional confessions to each other they both hugged and took a moment to collect themselves before Ant said: “That, coming from a good man, means a lot.
