TVTV NewsThis MorningThere has been a slight modification to This Morning's runtime to make room for an ITV News special10:16, 20 Jul 2026ITV's This Morning has been hit with a major shake-up.‌Presenter’s Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary made a return to our TV screens on Monday (July 20) morning as they stepped in for regular hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, who are taking a well deserved break.‌But just before they got stuck into the day's hot topics, the hosts delivered news about the programme's upcoming schedule and revealed that the show will be pulled off air early and replaced by an ITV News special.‌The ITV hit show usually kicks off at 10am and finishes at 12:30, making way for the Loose Women panel straight afterwards.However, the latest programme will finish at the slightly earlier time of 11am to make way for a special programme as Andy Burnham officially takes over from Keir Starmer as Prime Minister.‌While the programme wasn't completely dropped, it is ending an hour and a half earlier than its standard time. Speaking to viewers at home about the schedule change, Alison said: "Hello and welcome to your Monday's This Morning."It's lovely to have your company. we have a slightly shorter for you today but there is still lots to go through." Co-host Demort added: "There's lot's going on".The ITV News special will introduced the new prime minister as he's been confirmed and appointed. Andy will become the UK's fifth Prime Minister in four years.‌The Labour leader is expected to start appointing his cabinet this afternoon after a visit to Buckingham Palace to accept the role of prime minister from the King.Starmer will deliver his final address as PM, before he and Burnham visit King Charles in Buckingham Palace.
