About 40 firefighters were deployed to Imizamo Yethu after a fire broke out on Tuesday morning.
A fire resulted in the destruction of 50 informal structures in Imizamo Yethu in Hout Bay on Tuesday.
The fire broke out in the informal settlement at about 1.30am.
The City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, said fire services were alerted to structures alight on Hughenden Street, which resulted in the deployment of about 40 firefighters.
He said the blaze was contained just after 7am.
