Opposition parties have reacted to the economic measures announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) over the weekend, accusing him of offering insufficient relief to households while failing to address high prices, taxation and market competition.
PASOK spokesperson Kostas Tsoukalas said Mitsotakis “no longer has any connection with the political center,” which he said opposed oligopolies, high prices and excessive taxation.
Speaking to Antenna TV, Tsoukalas criticized the government over taxation, purchasing power, economic growth and the agricultural sector, saying New Democracy had left “no growth footprint” despite its claims.
He also questioned the government’s €2.2 billion spending figure, asking: “Did it multiply in one month?”
Alexis Tsipras’ ELAS party, which is in second place in opinion poles, also criticized Mitsotakis’ TIF announcements.
