Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to present, during his keynote economic policy speech at the Thessaloniki International Fair on Saturday, a package of measures to tackle rising costs, support small and medium-sized businesses and freelancers, boost pensions and assist families with children.
The main points of Saturday’s announcements were previewed by Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis on Friday, at the “Imerisia” conference.
He said government interventions would cover a “broad spectrum of society,” focusing on “relieving citizens from the effects of high prices and supporting specific social groups.”
Hatzidakis also highlighted demographic policy, saying the government’s program would include a comprehensive national strategy to address demographic challenges.
Its main goal, he explained, will be to reduce the cost of raising children and improve the balance between family and professional life.
