A man was wounded in a shooting in the Patissia district of Athens early Monday, police said.
The shooting took place shortly before 5 a.m. at the intersection of Vroutou and Themou Anninou streets, when two unidentified suspects riding a motorcycle opened fire as the man was leaving an apartment building.
The victim, reportedly an Albanian national, suffered gunshot wounds to his legs and was taken by ambulance to Georgios Gennimatas General Hospital.
The assailants fled the scene and remained at large. Police found three shell casings and a bullet at the scene and were investigating the circumstances and motive for the shooting.
