Culture Minister Lina Mendoni dedicated major heritage projects in Kavala, including upgrades to the UNESCO-listed Philippi archaeological site, a fire-protection system, and phase-one restoration of the Basilica B.
In Kavala’s lower town, restorers unveiled Gate 12, a section of the historic fortification previously unknown in scientific literature. Officials also presented digitization of the Cappadocian Collection Nazianzus.
Mendoni said Philippi and Kavala’s fortification “are a cultural asset that generates development and outward reach.”
