A police constable was suspended for allegedly making objectionable remarks against a public representative on social media, police said on Wednesday (September 2, 2026). Cyberabad Police Commissioner M Ramesh issued the suspension order against the Armed Reserve constable, a member of the 2018 batch, according to a press release.The constable came under scrutiny after senior police officials noticed that he had posted objectionable comments about a public representative on social media.The Commissioner said police personnel were required to maintain discipline, professional conduct and dignified behaviour, and advised them to exercise responsibility and restraint while using social media.Disciplinary action was initiated against the constable in accordance with prescribed rules, and he was placed under suspension for conduct that brought disrepute to the image and reputation of the police department, the release added.
