A head constable attached to the Thalavadi police station in Erode district was placed under suspension on Saturday (June 6, 2026) following an inquiry into allegations that he drove a police vehicle negligently under the influence of alcohol.According to the Erode district police, a video circulated on social media on June 5 alleged that a police vehicle was being driven recklessly by an intoxicated driver. Following the circulation of the video, an inquiry was conducted.The inquiry found that head constable Saravana Prakash, attached to the Thalavadi police station, had driven a police vehicle in a negligent manner while travelling from Erode to Sathyamangalam.Based on the findings, departmental action was initiated against the official, and he was placed under suspension on June 6, the police said.
