Smartphones have become like an extension of the Greeks’ hands, but they now also function as one of the main gateways to access the Internet.

Data from the National Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) reflects the dynamics of mobile broadband, as at the end of last year, active mobile connections using data services exceeded 10.46 million, up from 9.78 million just a year earlier.

This is an increase of approximately 685,000 connections or 7% in one year, with population penetration reaching 100%. In other words, mobile connections using data in Greece count approximately as many as the country’s population.
