Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet is gradually becoming one of the most important players in the broadband access market in Greece and Europe, filling a gap that terrestrial networks still leave.

Greece is one of the prime examples of this trend, due to its many islands and poor infrastructure.

Speedtest Intelligence data confirm this picture: In the first quarter of 2026, Greece recorded the second highest rate of Starlink usage in the EU, as approximately 6% of fixed broadband access measurements were made via the service.

Only Bulgaria showed a higher rate, followed by Croatia, Ireland and Latvia.
