The surge of the price of Brent oil above $95 per barrel limits expectations for a de-escalation of fuel prices, which remain above €2/liter.
The government announced on Monday that the 10 cents/liter subsidy on diesel will continue in September, while Helleniq Energy has announced it will maintain its 7.95 cents/liter discount on gasoline and diesel for September, which rival Motor Oil is expected to follow.
Pressure is also exerted on the price of electricity, as the average wholesale price increased in August by 21.3% compared to July, while the natural gas rates grow, too, generating uncertainty for the coming months.
