The subsidy on diesel at the pump will continue through September, at 10 cents per litre (8 cents plus VAT), with an estimated fiscal cost of €30 million, the Ministry of National Economy and Finance announced.Since the subsidy was introduced in April, the total fiscal cost of measures to contain increases in diesel prices has reached €211 million, according to the ministry.“As international fuel prices remain at elevated levels, the government is continuing its targeted intervention for another month, limiting the burden on households and businesses and, above all, the indirect impact of higher costs on the supply chain and prices,” the ministry said in a statement.
