A wildfire at the Drevlianskyi Nature Reserve in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region, which started on August 20, has been extinguished.
Ukrinform reports this, citing a Facebook post by the Zhytomyr Regional Office of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).
The fire was extinguished on the morning of August 31 after covering 4.5 hectares.
The day before, rescuers and forestry workers reported containing a ground fire covering 3.7 hectares. Earlier, it was reported that a forest fire had broken out on August 20 at the Drevlianskyi Nature Reserve in the Zhytomyr region and initially covered nearly four hectares.
The area affected by the fire later increased to 49 hectares and subsequently reached 59 hectares.
