Emergency crews have extinguished two wildfire hotspots in Ukraine's Chornobyl Exclusion Zone that were sparked by the crash of Russian drones, while firefighting operations continue at a third site.

The Main Department of the State Emergency Service (SES) in the Kyiv region announced the update on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

SES firefighters, together with personnel from the fire service of the State Specialized Enterprise Pivnichna Pushcha, extinguished fires at two locations.

During subsequent aerial monitoring using a drone, rescuers detected smoke rising from another section of the forest. Firefighting efforts are continuing to eliminate the remaining hotspot.

More than 260 personnel and around 65 pieces of specialized equipment have been deployed to combat the fires.
