A large-scale forest fire that broke out as a result of Russian military strikes has been extinguished in the “Drevlianskyi” Nature Reserve in Zhytomyr region.

The State Emergency Service reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

According to the agency, firefighting efforts lasted four days. Due to strong gusts of wind, the fire spread over an area of about 25 hectares.

To prevent the fire from spreading, firefighters extinguished it along the edges on the eastern and southern sides of the fire zone. For the same purpose, employees of the forest protection enterprise simultaneously established an internal parallel mineralized strip.

Drones were deployed to survey and monitor the situation.
