A Ukrainian citizen, aged about 25, has been detained in connection with the murder of a young woman in an apartment in Sofia's Buxton district, the Sofia Directorate of Internal Affairs confirmed to Nova TV.
The incident was reported early in the morning after the man began shouting in front of an apartment building. According to neighbors, he appeared to be in an inadequate state, prompting them to alert police.
Interior Ministry officers arrived at the scene and went to the apartment with the man in an attempt to calm him down. Inside, they found the body of a deceased woman, who was also of foreign origin.
The woman's identity has not yet been disclosed. Police are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding her death, while the motive remains under investigation.
According to the information available so far, the leading version being considered by investigators is that the killing was connected to domestic motives.
