Three people lost their lives in a violent incident in the town of Ugarchin, where the bodies of two women and one man were discovered in a municipal residential building used to house people in difficult social circumstances. Authorities have launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the tragedy, which is being led by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lovech together with the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry.
As the case unfolded, investigators detained a suspect believed to be connected to the deaths. According to information from local media sources, the detained man is a former prisoner. Preliminary findings indicate that an adult man and an adult woman suffered fatal knife wounds during an altercation inside the building.
The third victim was a 15-year-old girl who was present during the incident. Initial information suggests she was not directly attacked. Investigators believe she jumped from a balcony in an attempt to escape after witnessing the violence. She later died from injuries sustained in the fall. Reports indicate the teenager suffered from epilepsy.
According to early evidence, the fatal confrontation may have stemmed from personal tensions involving a romantic relationship. Investigators are examining claims that jealousy could have been a motive behind the attack. Local reports describe the incident as developing after a dispute between several individuals residing in the building, with some sources pointing to a possible love triangle at the center of the conflict.
